Abbie Wynn

Abbie Wynn is an art educator and a ceramic-collage artist whose practice spans pottery, functional wares, sculpture, and 2D collage and drawing. She earned her BFA from the University of Tennessee at Martin and is currently pursuing an MFA at the University of Memphis. Wynn makes work about the dynamics between comfort and pain: a deeply personal, reflective process born from lived experience with chronic illness and autoimmune disease, and as a survivor of intense surgery. Her early work tended to depict settings and objects that offered comfort in a life frequently shadowed by pain. As her practice has evolved, she now directly addresses pain, change, and memory, capturing moments from hospital stays and the continuous, intimate juggle between relief and ache. Through material play and memory, Wynn invites viewers to sit with vulnerability and the quiet strength found in life after almost death.
